Easy Way to Get to the Throne of Thunder
Susannah has played WoW since late Vanilla maining an obnoxiously annoying Hunter and a fun dungeon run Priest.
If you're a regular player of World of Warcraft who enjoys collecting old achievements, mounts, pets and reputation, you've probably run more than your fair share of older content. Whether it's Temple of Ahn'Qiraj or the Occulus, there's a point at which you grow tired of repeating the same steps and simply want to complete the dungeon and raid clear in the fastest possible way.
Although some older content features a portal or exit at the end, the majority of instances do not, meaning that you're stuck either using a hearthstone or running all the way back after completing them.
How to Exit the Instance—Fast!
Fortunately, there are a few simple tricks you can use to get out of the instance fast, making it easy to reset and clear instances multiple times when you're farming rare items.
- Enter an Arena, Battleground or Pet Battle
- Create a Group in the Group Finder
- Log Out
Tip: You can enter up to 10 instances per hour before you'll be temporarily locked from re-entering.
1. Enter an Arena, Battleground or Pet Battle
Whenever you enter a random battleground, dungeon, arena, pet battle or raid through the Group Finder, you'll be taken out of your current instance and, after leaving, transported to the nearest graveyard.
This is a simple way to exit your instance, although it has one major downfall: It can take awhile. Both the queue time as well as the time required to complete a dungeon or battleground can be anywhere from a few minutes through to half an hour or more.

Tip: Queue for a Skirmish
The quickest way to use this method is to queue for an arena skirmish. These usually have the shortest wait times and are also over quickly as they end as soon as all members of your team die once. Alternatively you can queue for a pet battle and forfeit the match, although some dungeons and raids will no longer allow you to queue for a pet battle while inside.
Also keep in mind that if you're in a group with other users, your entire group will have to queue for most random content.
2. Create a Group in the Group Finder
Creating a group in the custom group section of the 'Looking for Group' tool is one of the most popular methods for quickly leaving an old dungeon or raid.
List your group with a name such as 'Private' and then run the instance as normal, ignoring any requests by other users to join your group. Once you're finished and ready to leave, simply right-click your character portrait and select the option to leave group. This will bring up a message on screen that you're no longer in the instance's group and that you'll be teleported to the nearest graveyard in 60 seconds.
Another added benefit of using this method is that you'll be able to roll on any uncommon, rare or epic drops, meaning you can avoid filling your bags as you collect items.
3: Log Out
This third method can take awhile but can be a good backup if you need to take a break and the other methods aren't an option.
You can log out of your character for 30 minutes. When you log back in, you'll be back at the start of the dungeon or raid.
This is a useful method if you regularly play multiple characters and don't mind swapping between them.

Interesting information. I've never played WoW before, perhaps I should give it a go!
